Today, I went to fix someone’s computer that was running really slow, until I uninstalled unused programs. When I got there and booted it up, or tried to boot it up, it took forever. Right away I knew the computer itself just had too many programs installed.
So I went ahead and removed or uninstall all of his unwanted and unused programs from his home computer. Today we are going to go over exactly how to remove most every program that is on your computer, if you choose to. But lets just stick with programs that we do not recognize, and do not use.
Before we start, stop the programs running on the computer at this very second(bottom right hand corner you can see them). Read this about how to do that.
Go into your Control Panel, if you are unsure how to get there go here. Now click on Add/Remove Programs, and wait for the list to populate. Once it populates with a list of programs on your home computer, scroll down and identify programs you do not recognize.
Make sure these do not say anything about Drivers, Firmware, or Windows… lets let those programs be. So click on one that you want to uninstall, and then click remove. Do this for a few and try and restart your home computer after doing 2-3 of them.
This should make your computer run a lot smoother and faster, so always remember that removing/uninstalling unused programs could be the answer to your home computer repair issues.
